CIVIC TECH NEWS & ANALYSIS

ABOUT THE CIVIC HALL

Civic Hall is a one-of-a-kind community center for the world’s civic innovators. Located in the heart of New York City, we are a space where social entrepreneurs, change-makers, government employees, hackers, academics, journalists, and artists can share knowledge, build tools, and solve problems, together.

Civic Hall is the kind of place where you bump into those old friends you met working on someone’s internet campaign two elections ago and now only see at the occasional tech conference. Here, you can rekindle the friendship and start work on that project that never seems to make it off the back burner.

But it is more than just those serendipitous moments. We are a place for collaboration and networking, for building and problem solving. This is a hub for people who share core beliefs and values.

Civic Hall is more than a desk. We are your home for civic tech.

We feature a state-of-the-art, 180-person event space with plug-and-play presentation system and high-capacity wi-fi, along with smaller conference rooms for more intimate conversations and breakout sessions.

CIVICIST:

Civicist is our hub for civic tech news and analysis, building on a decade of coverage by techPresident and Personal Democracy Media on the intersection of technology and society. Our editorial team covers the growing ecosystem of people and projects using tech for civic purposes, and an experienced group of contributing editors offers its own observations and insights, often from within the field itself.

PERSONAL DEMOCRACY FORUM:

Our annual flagship conference brings together close to 1,000 top technologists, campaigners, hackers, opinion-makers, government officials, journalists, and academics for two days of game-changing talks, workshops, and networking opportunities, offering an inspiring look into what’s ahead for the entire civic tech field.
